Great Commission Story - Bible

The eleven disciples went to Galilee. They went to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him. But some doubted.

Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'

Before Jesus went back to heaven, he gave his disciples one final command. This command is called the Great Commission. Jesus told them to go and make disciples of all nations.

Jesus has all authority. He is King over everything in heaven and on earth. Because he has all authority, he sends us out. We are to go. We are not to stay in one place. We are to go to people everywhere.

We are to make disciples. A disciple is a follower of Jesus. We are to help people become followers of Jesus. We do this by telling them the good news. We do this by baptizing them. Baptism is a sign that a person belongs to Jesus. We are to teach them to obey everything Jesus commanded.

This command is not just for the eleven disciples. It is for all of Jesus' followers. We are all supposed to go. We are all supposed to tell others about Jesus. We can do this in our neighborhood, at our school, at our workplace, and in other countries.

Jesus promises to be with us. He will never leave us. He is with us always, even to the very end of the age. We do not go alone. He goes with us. He gives us his Spirit to help us. We can trust him to help us do what he has commanded.

The Great Commission is our job. We are to tell the world about Jesus. We are to make disciples of all nations. This is how the good news spreads. This is how people come to know Jesus. This is how we honor our King.

The Great Commission story teaches mission and obedience. It shows the importance of spreading God’s word to everyone. This story highlights faith and dedication.
